    vxr turbo dillema

hi all, just fitted my vxr turbo to my coupe and every time it dumps i get ,what sounds like, wastegate chatter. Im assuming its turbo stall. I am running the standard dumpvalve only, so do these have a wastegate?

    does anyone else get this

    what can i do?

im using the vxr actuator and bc solenoid so it can only be the solenoid at the back of the engine surley?

    what are your thoughts?

All turbos have wastegates, just some are external.

I have the same thing with my VXR unit, don't think it is any thing to worry about.

Your boost map will be different to a std kkk k04 - you can't expect to bolt on a vxr turbo and expect it to run perfectly. You'll need a remap to make it perform the way it shoud. You don't say what other engine mods you have? i.e. pre-cat/intercooler etc?

ive de cated the precat myself,ie got the standard pipe but with no internals. blueflame cat back and an induction kit. might get my remap done at that place in birmingham. is there a considerable amout of difference with or without a cooler? i have set 250bhp as my absolute limit because i want reliability too. would love to have around 300lbs of torque though.

250 is good, but TBH running mine at 265ish + 275ftlbs has been great... its the tyres and clutch that have needed replacing

a word of warning, once u get power... you will only want more. 250 in a coupe will be quick though.
