lol my temprature guage doesn't move until I am in rush hour traffic and bunny hopping. When I get out of the slow (10-20 mph) traffic, it drops to 0 (the resting point) again.

Sounds like your thermostat is buggered.

cars never overheated once since i've had it, and only when the car is slowly moving ie rush hour or tunnel traffic will it rise to 85-90 then it will drop back to resting position (needle).

It sounds like it is stuck open though, so it will never overheat. The coolant is circling the whole system all of the time. The thermostat controls that and stops it going round the radiator before its warm. Sitting in traffic will not let air pass the fins on the rad so no cooling effect.

Mine was the same but changed it asap. Not sure if its damaging with it thinking its cold all the time. They are only about £10 and easy enough to fit.

The guage should move within a mile or so, if it doesn't I'd suspect the sensor is buggered or the stat is stuck open. Either way I'd get it looked at as if the stats wide open you'll be drinking fuel as the car will run richer for longer as the throttle body has a water feed and it will be telling the ECU that the water is still cold, hence the ECU will keep the mixture richer to compensate.
If the sensor is buggered and I'd suspect this more then there's a chance you could overheat as I'm fairly sure the sensor trips the fan in which case you'll have boiled over before the sensor reaches what it considers to be hot.

thats something else i've noticed, my fans don't seem to rotate lol, I've only looked when the car's first started, so I might have a look when I get home.

I am drinking fuel (250/275 miles per tank) and ECU is meant to be replaced today but hasn't arrived.

Wouldn't this show up on a tech 2?
