    The dreaded BSOD !!!

Just a quick question for all u techies out there!

Does the dreaded BSOD mean ur HDD is defo on the way out???

Was having problems a few weeks ago with constant 100% CPU usage - so changed a few things on the startup menu on msconfig and ever since then Ive been getting the BSOD quite a few times. Had it 4 times already tonight (space of about 4 hours!)

Cant remember what I disabled on the menu but guess I'll have to enable it and hope that works.

The system itself is only about 15mths old - made by MESH and it cost about £1500. 300GB MAXTOR HDD iirc but will try the above to resolve - but any advice would be appreciated.

not quite sure... never actually paid attention. I'll try and make a note next time.
When it does reboot and send error report it says its down to the RAM. I did take the cover off to clean the innards of the machine so i could have dislodged summit i guess.

I'll get the codes next time it happens then take it from there.

when you boot, any unusual beeps come from the machine? Ram usually makes the machine beep if there is something wrong with it. ( though if it isn't beeping, do not rule a RAM problem out lol)

itll normally only beep if it fails to boot. beeping could indicate cpu, gfx card, even a keyboard. all depends on the BIOS installed (ie Phoenix, AMI, etc) and the sequence of beeps.
