Aftermarket panel filter zlet yay or nay...

I know this has been asked 100 times before, but was just wondering what the general concensus was with panel filters on the zlet??
Obviously there is the amm issue.
I am planning on going for cs2 soon, and have heard that apparently even courtney reccomend using the paper filter??
Just a reply to the poll would be good(if you would reccomend it or not), or any more info even better....(have done searches)

Aftermarket filter/AMM failure is an old wive's tale. Unless you're a total fool and oil the hell out of the filter after you clean it, then there's no way the AMM should be affected. They blow all the time anyway, it's a common complaint not just with Vauxhall, but with VAG as well.

You only need to clean something like a K&N filter once every few years, and if you follow the instructions then you're fine.

I did kind of wonder this ZS, apperantly its when oil particles stick to the wire on the amm, and as it heats up it creates a weakness and fails.
But obvisously oil is going to stick easier than dirt particles, so bigger holes in k and n shouldnt be to much of a problem!

Oh I know the idea behind why people think they fail. It's just another dealer's excuse to get out of replacing a known weak design part.

Bosch AMMs are known to be a weakness in any application they're used in. VAG, GM, BMW, all have problems with that same design.

You may as well not fit a filter then, since it's the oil that traps the crap.

The key is don't over oil it!!!

Had an aftermarket filter on mine for over 18 months and been fine.

They go anyway even with standard paper filters
