Talking 535d died, soon to be replaced by Carrera/Cayman S!

Yep - Fathers in laws 5 month old BMW 535d has totally died - The computer has simply packed in and BMW don't have any parts as it seems that many other 5 series have also packed in too.
He's after a full refund (always like the engine but never liked the OTT computer) and will either be getting a Cayman S or Carrera S (997 shape) to replace it.

Of course, I shall be insured on it and they are spending 6+ months on their new boat (almost built) so it may even reside here - VERY safe here and it would get well looked after

Will get pics once it's here.

Nice - there is a shed load of a difference in price between the cayman s and the carrera s though - like £20K - how much was the 535d? - not £70K.

When the R32 got done over, I lived in flat in Clifton with no off street parking.
I know live in a very secluded (can't see another house) place surrounded by 5 acres of woodland and inaccessible apart from by a very narrow and steep track and it's NEVER been burgled or had any problems - I think we'll be okay!

Cayman actually works out more like mid £50k once specced up with essentials - Money isn't really the main factor, and a big reason for the Carrera idea is that it can have a sunroof!

Anyway, I'll happily look after whatever it is whilst they sail off on their boat (ready in two weeks)!
