Engine Managment Light Poss DV Problem

Right my first problem in turbo ownership, yesterday i got round to fitting a bailey dump valve and de-restricted the airbox at the same time. all was fine last night, drove round normally enjoying the sounds of my first mod but tonight its all gone a bit pete tong. was giving the car a little stick and all of a sudden there was a strange noise when the turbo came onto heavy boost, like the dump valve was sticking and blowing air out, then the engine managment light came on pulled over to check if any pipes etc had come loose but nothing obvious, got the car home and will have to wait till tomorrow for a good check. has anyone got any ideas where i should be looking or what could be the cause? the dv was working fine on the way back its just the noise and the drop in boost that i have to go on.

You have a boost leak somewhere - it's just a case of finding it.

As Scott said Boost Leak possibly. Re-Check all the pipe work that you may have removed and refitted when fitting the DV.

What DV are you using ?

Throw the DV in the bin, as much as I love the noise, they are more hassle than they are worth, the OE one does the job more than well enough.

If the DV is brand bew, you can send it back to Baileys and they will service it for you FOC, failing that, it will cost you about 30 quid, and dont expect it to last longer than 12 months before it goes again.

    Painful but true

Seconded, mine has run ten times better after reverting back to just the OE one.
