    blue smoke on start up

    hi,
    can anyone help i have a turbo coupe ( 02/70k) on startup (cold) it blows out blue smoke this only happened when i got a service done and had mobil1 put in, i changed the oil again to 10-40? and it still did it i was told it could be the turbo but had no problems.car runs fine boost is ok as well i was then told it was the valve stem oil seals just had them done and car is still doing it!!!! does anyone have any idea what it could be has it happened to someone else???it only does when i start it up for the first time on a morning

    Welcome to AS to start off with, secondly pics will be required to be on this website

    Okay blue smoke hey most likely oil seeping past the valve stem seals, or you have overfilled it, a leak or last thing the turbo.

    If it is the turbo then replace it with the VXR turbo unit thats what I did.

    Oil smoke is normally one of:-

    Valve stem oil seals (you've already done 'em)
    Turbo
    Worn rings/Bores - get a compression test done top discount this.

    After that, not a clue matey!!

    still having chew with it smoking got a compression test done which is all ok so now it seems like it might be the turbo any ideas were to get one ???..... apart from dealers!
