Couple of new bit for me coupe!

Ok i have had a few new bits for the coupe, all audio stuff and a car kit.

Firstly my new headunit, never had a alpine head unit before always being a pioneer man but i am really happy with it, its the cda 9853r (pics below) There is alot of settings on it i am yet to play with but the first thing i did notice about it was the great build quality! The display is very clear and very easy to use and te sound is very very crisp. Compared to the standard unit it is 100 times better and at only £190 quid i think that its a hell of a lot of headunit for not to much brass. The best thing about the head unit is 6-Channel Digital Time Correction, basically it delays the sound coming out of the drivers side speakers a tiny tiny bit so that the sound from the passangers side hits your ears the exact some time, sounds a realy small thing but it dam sure works! Big thanks to the mrs for this as it was my birthday prezzy!

    here is the full spec:
    • 50W MAX x 4 High Power Amplifier
    • 3 PreOuts (2V)
    • New Glide Touch
    • SwingFace with GlideTouch Mechanism
    • RDS Tuner
    • Ready for iPod®
    • Bass Engine Pro™
    • 6-Channel Digital Time Correction
    • 6-Position HP/LP Digital Crossover
    • Subwoofer Level Control
    • Subwoofer Phase Selector
    • Bass Focus
    • 5-Band Digital Parametric Equalizer
    • Media Xpander™
    • CD-R/RW Playback
    • MP3/WMA Decoder/Playback
    • MP3 Text Information Display
    • QuickSearch Function (MP3 Files)
    • CD Text, CD Text Display, CD Text Scroll
    • CD Shuttle Control Function
    • Versatile-Link™ Ready
    • MaxTune SQ Tuner
    • Regulated 1-Bit DAC
    • 5 x 7 Dot Matrix LCD Display
    • Multicolour Illumination (for 4 buttons)
    • OEM Steering Remote Ready
    • Detachable Trim Plate
    • Anti-Theft Detachable Front Panel

Next up was some new component speakers, i ended up going for alpine type-r SPR-17LS - 16.5cm components, again never had alpine before and again i am happy with the allround performace of them, they are just running off the headunit at the moment but will be looking at getting them amped up in the future, here is the spec for them:

    16.5cm 2-way components
    350W Peak Power
    70W RMS
    Frequency Response: 35Hz – 30kHz
    Multi-Layered Hybrid Fiber Cone
    Wave Guide
    Linear Drive Magnet Motor Structure
    Lightweight Rubber Surround
    Custom Aluminum Woofer Frame
1" Soft Dome Tweeter with Tuned Back-Chamber
External Crossover with 6-StepTweeter Level Adjusment

Next up is my sub and amp, again i ventured into the unknown with a kicker amp and a focal 13" sub and again i am happy with them both. I cannot really comment on performace yet as i am just bedding them in at the moment, the amp is a Kicker: KX450.2 Amplifier and the spec is here:

    RMS Power (WATTS/CHANNEL), 2 Ohm Stereo: 225W x 2
RMS Power (WATTS/CHANNEL), 4 Ohm Bridged Mono: 450W
    Remote Bass Control: Yes
    Fan Cooling: Yes
    Length With Shroud: 8 27/32"
    Width With Shroud: 10"
    Height With Shroud: 2 1/2"
    Frequency Response: 20Hz-20kHz; +0, -1dB
Input Sensitivity: High Level 340mV-10V, Low Level 170mV-5V
    Signal-to-Noise Ratio: >95dB, a-weighted, re:rated power
Active Crossover: 12dB/Octave, variable 50Hz-200Hz, selectable high pass, low pass, or all pass
KICKBass Boost: Variable to +18dB, centered @ 40Hz Pass-Thru RCAs

My sub is a Focal: 33V1 - 13" subwoofer which was a strange pick really conidering you dont see many 13" subs, only problem with this was modding a 12" box to fit the sub! spec here:

    13" (270mm) POLYGLASS V1 SUBWOOFER
    Voice Coil: Dual 2-ohms.
    Motor: 156mm.
    Max. power: 800W.
    Nom. power: 400W.
    Sensitivity: (2,83 V/1m) : 90dB.
Frequency response: 30 Hz-1 kHz (depending on load)
Suitable for sealed box applications 25-40 litres

    Here are the pics:

finally my car kit, i have a nokia 6230 (best phone EVER!) and i did not really fancy a cradle kit so i went for the nokia 610 bluetooth kit, its great, crystal clear even at high speeds and i can read texts on the little screen

Sorry for the long post people hope your still awake!

Again i would like to say thanks to the mrs and simon at NS instalations for fitting everything

I have the Parrot CK3100, it's a Blue Tooth in car kit, easy to fit and has an LCD display, just put the name in a google search.
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!
