    Experiences with Vauxhaul....

What are everyones experiences with vauxhaul?

i have bought an SXI to be picked up on friday, though out of the blue they rang me today to say it 'should' be ready for friday....

whenever i was dealing with ford, if they said 'should' it always meant major f*ckup.

I've never been to a Vauxhaul garage.

Vauxhall however arent too bad, the servicing isnt overly expensive, the parts people try to be helpful if maybe a bit dumb and dont know much. Ask for an 888 part and its time to find the holy grail

It's not really a valid question. In fact, it's impossible to answer.

Every dealership is a seperate franchise, so some are better than others. Also, some people get excellent service from a dealership, and others get really bad service.

For example, there's dealers here I use for parts, but I wouldn't use them for anything else, only because I find that dealership's parts guys to be knowledgeable and useful, but the sales guys are a pack of ****s. Servicing isn't much better. The dealer I now buy my cars and get them serviced at I wouldn't use for parts because I don't get on with the parts guy.

    See what I mean?

Oh, and don't compare Vauxhall to Ford. Ever noticed a Ford garage's service department is always booked up for about 3 months, totally overworked, and twice the size of the sales department?

Don't worry about it..they are doing that to cover their backs. They probably won't carry out the service and mot until towards the end of the week, they are covering all bases incase the car needs a part that they do not have in stock.

As ZS said, you get good dealers and bad ones. I have one no more than 1 minute from my house, however they can't be trusted with stickle bricks let alone a car. So I take mine 15 miles away to be serviced and looked at. The parts people are friendly and knowledgable, the service guys are phenominal. Fast, friendly willing to talk about the cars to you and show you things when you ask questions. They even cleaned my car for me FOC when I took it in for an EGR valve replacement under warranty. No where in the vaux handbook does it say you should do this.

I only hope your cars coming from a good dealership. TBH if there was a problem most bad dealers wouldn't of phoned you at all, worried incase you kicked off. So the fact they did phone you is very good imo.

Get some pics up when you get it.

I've always had excellent service from the dealerships I've used. The problems I've found lie with their Customer Service at HQ. Their manager when I last had contact with them was a right miserable cow and seemed determined not to help me.
