it will be all down to how it is connected. if its through an FM modulator then it will be pants. but with the proper leads it will be very good. why not get a head unit with a memory card slot?much cheaper then buying an ipod and a headunit. you can get 1gb memory card for cheap!

depends what quality you record it at aswell, doesnt sound as good as CD IMO but the difference is negligible if you record onto the Ipod at a decent quality

will you be able to cycle through the songs through the H/U or will it just have to be through the Ipod itself?
cheers for the replies fellas much appreciated!

I have an Alpine with iPod connectivity, it works via a lead coming from the back of the headunit which connects to the iPod, similar way to a CD changer.

It sounds just as good as a normal CD once you have tuned all the bass etc in on the headunit, but I found that I had to set this up twice, once for the normal CDs and again when I connected the iPod for the first time! It sounds great.

However, once the iPod is connected, you can only control it through the H/U and not the iPod itself.
