    injectors blocked??

    my car has been using more petrol recently and im getting quite a strong smell of petrol when i put my foot down it also feels a lot slower like i cldnt pull away from my mates 1.4 bubble, its only been doing it since i lent my brother my car and he ran out of petrol wrongly judged the petrol light!!!

    ive been told that the injectors may be blocked, does anyone know if this is right? if it is where can i go midlands preferred to get it fixed and how much shld i charge my bro .

    any help much appreciated i cant afford to run my car wheb its using this much petty

    try sum RED EX first .it cleans the injectors and try cleanin the throttle body under bonnet. did it with mine no problem now .vaux wanted 60 quid to do this

    Sounds like all the crud in the bottom of the tank may have found its way into the system, might be worth changing the fuel filter too.

    If running the tank low has caused a blockage it will be due to debris. Redex isn't going to clear that.

    Change the fuel filter and check for fuel leaks.

    Sounds more likely to be a fuel leak somewhere. Doubt that it would be the injectors, check the fuel rail and associated piping around the pressure regulator for any signs of leakage.

    you can listen to the injectors to make sure they are working by placing a long screwdriver on the injector if you can get to them.. and you can actually hear it opening and closing doiing this you will either be able to diagnose if its the injectors or not...

    the car is having a service sometime next week so fuel filter will be changed etc. but before that is done id like to get something done with the injectors, does anyone know how i can take them off?

    yup.

    theres 1 bolt holding the rail to the block.. (or maybe 2)

    take them out and them just tug hard.

    I recommend some vasaline or similar for getting them back in though.
