    My car at vxl today....

    ... and its still there.

Went in to get the new turbo and precat replacement fitted. My car doesn't have the precat, or at least its not seperate so it couldnt go on? Is this something from the early zlets?

New turbo went on ok, mechanic took it for a test drive at a quarter to 5 when he had finished the work and..... engine management light with the tech2 saying 'boost pressure out of range'

He said its 99% certain to be one of two sensors. One on the I/C and one on the turbo itself but he wont know until tomorrow.

The turbo had had the actuator wound in a bit but he sorted that and tweaked it several times, but still showed the fault.

My big plans to fit my 2.2 airbox tonight have to be put in suspense now.

Yeah Rob, early ACT have a one piece cat - it needs to be cut and the new one welded on iirc.

Yeah, I imagine a dealer wouldn't want to touch it, best of at an exhaust place who wont mind chopping it up.

They said they had no prob chopping it, just didnt want to weld stainless steel to the std cat.

might take it to an exhaust place local and see what they say.

    the saga continues...

just called them and its not a sensor, its either a short circuit or a bad ecu.

Any gen on ecu's? I know new ones are in the region of £600?

    *edit* just found this...

shouldnt matter whats up with it, if the light wasnt on when it went in it must be something they did.. they will have to fix it for free...

is the actuator in the right place..

yes. it was in the wrong place but they moved it to where it should be before testing it.

still waiting to hear a result. I just called and he's waiting to hear from vxl technical.

Might have to play that card if they say its needing a new ecu.
