    speeding ticket question

Ok my mate got done for doing 45 in a 30 but he was sure it was a 40

anyway when the copper charged him he said he was being done for doing 44.1mph in a 70

so he made a verbal mistake

but here is the good part

he filled in the ticket as doing 44.1mph in a 70 zone

where does he stand with this?

i said he should let it go to court as they will throw it out

i'd personally take it to court...but maybe have a word with a solicitor or someone in the know beforehand just in case...Defo sounds like a bit of a f++k up in my books. Not sure on the legal side of things though

in court - your solicitor would point out that if the police officer cant know the speed limit of the road - how should you know it...
    and...
if it is a mistake - what credibility does this cast on the rest of the ticket.

It wont go to court - they will realise beforehand and drop the charges.

BUT - if your 'mate' has insurance due to be renewed - you have to make them aware of any impending cases like this and he could be out of pocket or uninsurable because of it. If it does increase his premium, you need to find out the cost difference ion order to obtain compensation for the difference in insurance.
why do today what you can...... I'll finish this later
