    VXR Turbo

When fitting a VXR turbo onto a GSI is it just a strait swap over or are other bits needed too?

The vxr turbo and actuator are a straight swap over, just be sure to by the gasket and washers needed.
I would also stick fresh oil in, fitted mine 2 weeks ago it feels alot smoother and has improved the performance a little. Exhaust also has a deeper tone to it.

coolent feed/return and oil feed/return line as well i think needs to be swapped on the unit itself - bolt out of one hole and in another - new gaskets, washers, manifold studs etc - keep 50 aside for the replacement bolts and gaskets, did mine myself 4 months ago - not one issue with it - and it was the first time i had ever done it

Question is whether people are running the actuator at the std markings?

I was told to wind it down a bit to prevent excessively high overboosting.

Somewhere is a thread with all the part numbers needed, Clokey put it up a while ago IIRC.

i didnt even use new bolts or gaskets on mine, its run superb since the 2nd one was fitted, should take no mor than 4 hrs start to finish. it would be a good idea to make sure its boost is correct for the level of tune you have (as its set up for a different engine) but a great option ready for more power (if the funds are ther fit an uprated actuator) when ur ready for cs3 there will be no mucking about 260-280hp with all the other goodies fitted (and buy a new clutch + flywheel cos it'll last around 8 weeks after the upgrade)

its a quieter turbo and gives more power, defo a good option.
