    EDS from regal. 1.8sri mk5

Hi! I have a Astra sportshatch 1.8SRi and have a K&N 57i fitted and am looking at maybe getting an irmscher backbox but I'm not sure. Eventually I want to get it hipped/remapped at regal using the eds technology! What gains can I expect just with the induction kit...also how much better would it be of I got the irmscher back box as well. Cheers! Ryan.

the induction kit will prob make no difference if your lucky, or more likely it will reduce power,
the irmscher backbox i would say wouldnt increase power at all as they are more of a styling option not performance,

Ok cool! Yeah I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the induction kit If it's only a styling option I don't think I'll bother with it...so what gains do you rhink then they claim 20bhp ish. Cheers

who claim 20bhp? regal for the EDS software?

if regal say 140bhp, id guess that would be right, cant see that they'd over do it too much

Yup thats what I was reading Cool. Basically wanted to be sure it was worth doing and whether or not there are any other mods that would go well with it?! They need to be mods that can be easily removed for servicing too unless vxl parts Cheers.

it depends if the software is just an off the shelf they copy onto your ECU which wont take into account any other mods you have, or if it is custom made on the rolling road which they will custom build around your car and your mods,
id assume as its regal it would be a custom made one, but for £295 it wouldnt surprise me if it was just copied on, worth giving them a call and asking,
