    Anyone been on holiday to Turkey

    Just thought would see has anyone on here been on holiday to Turkey,Was thinking of going to Marmaris a beech resort in Turkey,A mate seen it advertised online seems very cheep think it was like 230 quid for a 7 night stay hotel and flight included...

    erm - somewhere else I have lived! *LOL* I lived in south east turkey for 3 years, in a horrible city called Diyabakir though, so never saw much of the resort places

    my useful tip for the day - "sechter" is Pi$$ off in turkish

    went last year and it was very cheap but not the cleanest of places and the beach in marmaris is not great but if you get a boat trip out to turtle beach you will love it

    Been to Marmaris and thought it was great, in contrast I thought it was much cleaner than Spain, they were out cleaning the streets at 6 every morning when I was there. Lovely weather and great scuba diving around that area aswell.

    Yeah, i have been to bodrum, the country was nice but i didn't find the people very pleasant, very rude at times.

    Been to Marmaris and hated it tbh, far too hot for me, found it quite dirty and didn't like the people much. I've heard better things about other areas but I can't say I'll be going back to Turkey - wasn't impressed.

    we were there last year 8/08/06 for a week and we had temps up to 48 oC

    you want to try living up in the mountains where I did - scorching hot in the summer but in the winter it'd get down to -30!!!!!!!

    same sort of temps when i was there, got used to it quite quickly tbh, didnt mind it, although 35 in the night was a bit much lol
