Changing headunit in Gsi with Siemens Satnav Hu?

My Gsi came with the Sat Nav headunit and 4 cd changer in the dash, which is all nice and handy but the sound quality is crap with a capital C.

Want to change to my SQ setup from my old sxi, Alpine HU, Rainbow, Genesis, Jl etc....

Only problem I have is that my MFD is different to the other astra gs/gsis with no satnav, my fuel computer etc is displayed on it, with my last astra I lost most MFD functions except date, clock and temp.

Dont really want to lose the fuel computer etc, I know there is an alpine adapter available so I keep the steering wheel controls, does anyone know there if there is an adapter available to keep the mfd fully operational???

Do you have the mono or colour display?

I have the colour one, but either way, you need to do what I did. You need to remove the CD holder and move the satnav to that position. Then you need to wiring in the new headunit at the top location - keeping the old one. This is the only way you will get everything to work.

I hocked my satnav up to the rear speakers only and used the front speakers for the new HU.

Just get an external speaker for the satnav.
