    Question Another alloy wheel question

What could you put on a Mk4 Astra that has come of another manufacturer?

Simply because i recon the wheels from a Lexus 200is would suit the Mk4 a treat, but i'm not sure if they would fit, being different measurements n all

i was toying with the idea of the black alloys on the Honda Accord for a bit,
and i remember someone in Total Vauxhall put on a set of Porsche 18's
    which looked superb

But i'm just interested with what would fit off another car?

    Any ideas would be great
    Thanks
    Smiler

it all depends on the stud pattern and the all important offset. First off which astra have u got and has it got 4 or 5 stud hubs?

If its 4 then any wheels u fit have to have a 4 x100mm PCD (u can adjust the PCD 2mm either way and use wobbly bolts if so be) also the centre bore of the wheel needs to be larger than 56.6mm (if smaller it'll need to be rebored to fit over the centre of the hub) larger than 56.6 will require spigot rings to fit the hubs.

If 5 stud then the above principle applies but in this case the wheel pattern is 5 x 110mm (again 2mm either side with wobby bots) and centre bore of 65.1mm if im not mistaken.

As for offset - this is one of the most important factors to consider. Have a look at this link for more info regarding wheel dimensions.

Providing all the above are within the accepted tolerances then there shouldnt be any problems.

Good luck whater u decide and keep us posted.

I have a set of Konig Graphite Holes that was fitted on my is200

.....wrote off the car and now own a 1.6 8v club mk4. They dont fit!!

Like said, if its four stud forget it....the lexus is 5x114 with an offset of between 38 and 45 depending on size of wheels.

If its 5 stud you may be lucky....not too sure

Sorry but 114 is just too much to take up with wobbly bolts - 2mm either side but 4mm defo wont fit. TBH theres loads of wheels out there that come in the relevant 100/110 fitment. If ur defo after another manufacturers rims then let us know which ones and we can give u some help.
Obviously which car u have and whether 4 or 5 stud will help greatly.

If you have 5 studs then a good manufacturer to go for is Audi, they're rims are 5 x 112mm and offset is generally in the 35-45 region which again is pretty good for ur car. Obviously u would need to fit wobbly bolts but no real problem.

Let us know some more details on ur car/wheel preference and we can point u in the right direction.

Wow you people know your stuff, mine is an 04 plate with 5 studs with plain sxi alloys. So anything else i think would be an improvement to be honest.
I haven't decided which ones to go for yet, simply cos there is so much choice out there. i need a good think on wha i think would suit the Mk4 But something similar to the Lexus ones i think. i'll have to have a fiddle with pictures and see how they look

    Cheers everyone
