help with jacking up a lowered Mk4

Just a quick query, my astra is lowered 40mm and runs on 18's. I've recently fitted rieger "flute" sideskirts, but now when I try to jack it up the stock jack can't get past the skirts, I've bought a bottle jack, to no avail and the 2 trolley jacks I have can't fit under the sides.

Can anyone recommend a specific type of jack that's good for lowered cars??

    Cheers

    Mike

Easy way is to drive the car up on a short bit of plank (or two), so you gain a bit of height to enable the jack to go under

Hi - newbie to the forum, i have the same problem with my mk4 GSi lowered as far as it can go on FK coilovers with 17's so it's quite close to the floor. I was considering a trolley jack specifically design for low cars....

looks like a nice jack and good for lowered cars, bit pricey at 126 all in though
i would go along the planks of wood route as the lads have said.^^^^^

get a 6 foot scaffold plank, cut it in half, then cut a 12 inch piece from each one, then fix it on top of the longer one at the end, should give you 3 inch extra for a 25 trolley jack to get in....

then when you have finished you can go and spend your saved 101 on something else

Yeah drive the car up on a plank of wood, then just slip the trolly jack under the car...

I used to have to do this with my lowered polo!

Ive got the same skirts and they sit soo low from the jacking point! I drive my car up onto a 2" block of wood then jack it up from there. Alot easier than trying to squeeze the jack in underneath, and bending the skirt!
