Everyone mock me! The Leon is for sale!

    That's right!

There are a few reasons for this but the main one is the money factor. I do stupid miles in my job and the leon is rather expensive to run, what with the £150 brake pads, £100 tyres, low fuel economy and expensive servicing.

So I'm now thinking of de-turboing and going for either a 2.2 or a 1.8. I'm also thinking a cabby for mincing fun. Seen a couple of nice black 2.2s with leather for around the £7k mark which isn't too bad. There's also the coupe option, could go for a high miler jobbie for around 4k.

So yeah, there it is, it really does pain me to get rid of the Leon cos it's probably the best car I'll own for a long time but looking at the money situation, it would seem that it's time to grow up (a little bit!)

Also, I've done a search and got mixed figures but if anyone has mpg/performance gen on the 1.8s and 2.2s it'd be much appreciated.

    Turbo-less Dave.

PVS 2006 has a lot to answer for. Mostly the sudden interest in Vectra B GSis.

If you're going to get another astra, at least go for a cabby or coupe so you won't look like quite as big a muppet. Note the 'quite' bit...

Do what I did, take the plunge and get a Jazz . Great fuel economy (60mpg, better than any astra diesel), cheap to run, insure and service. What more can you ask for?
