why not a turbo ?? they are about the same price as a 2.2 now days
if i had to have a 2.0 or a 2.2 the 2.2 would win all the time
but you can pick up coupe turbo's from £4500 now days an SriT for the same kind of price

    hi m8

yer im torn between the turbo at the mo.

    1.cost of fuel.
    2.turbo failure
    3 price.
    4.insurance.

but the non turbos are quiet cheaper than the turbos. had a discussion on hear last night.

just want to no what i get between the 2 cars.

Comes down to cost matey, the 2.2 is better but it's newer as it replaced the 2.0 so it will cost more. Roughly speaking £2500-£4000 ish will get you a 2.0 and over that will buy you a 2.2.

    2.2 is chain driven.

The 2 looks amost identical bar the seats iirc unless you get to the late 2002 model 2.2 which has some revisions.

another plus point to the 2.2 is that the prodrive (sri-t) body kit was available as an optional extra so there are a few around with that factory fitted.

Both look like this as std

Up till late 2002 (2.2) when the lights, alloys changed etc.

Quite a few have the Irmscher bodykit factory fitted also.

2.2 had cruise control as standard according to parkers and switchable traction control, doesn't look like the 2.0 had either. Think dash will just be plain black one on both models. Only turbo models have the grey dash.

the 2.2 is cheaper on insurance. dont ask me why but 3 of us tried and it was cheaper for all 3 of us to have the 2.2 over the 2.0
