Thinking of starting my own business.....

I've been thinking about this for a while now, as being based in China I keep coming accross factories and products for the car accessory market that I can buy cheaply and ship to the UK.

I've already sourced factories for the list of products below, I'd be interested in hearing any other ideas for products that are maybe difficult to get hold of in the UK, expensive, or new....

    1. HID kits inc. ballast only and bulbs only
    2. TFT screens, DVD players, DIN mount, headrest mount, sunvisor mount etc.
    3. Rear parking sensor kits, inc LCD rear view mirror screens etc.
    4. Wireless tyre pressure/temp sensor kits
    5. Intercoolers
    6.

Sounds like you have a plan they young man, make sure you keep the tax and customs men happy and make a profit for your efforts.

Incidentlyally how much could you get me a pair of HID ballasts for (yes I still the orginal pair and 2 sets of H7 bulbs)?

I'd be warey of the intercoolers due to quality of workmanship, fitting and shipping costs (size).

I think that you should look at the first thing that you considered a while back - too much comeback on electronics - whereas with the other product what you see is what you get Shipping may be a problem though

Go for it - life is too short to sweat it out for some other person to make the money.

If you've got the funds then I reckon it's worth the investment. It's all about taking risks and having the balls...

..plus if you're over in the UK more you can help me with my mods

How about things like memory cards... they are real cheap in china but pretty expensive over here.

Air conditioning units for shops/offices are made pretty cheaply in china and sold at a huge profit over here. I know a few people that are into importing these, they make about £200k per shipment.

my persoanly opinion is that the market is flooded with all the things you have in mind, most are very cut throat as well. You need to offer somethign that is a little harder to get hold off and more importantly that isnt being sold by various bedroom companies on ebay.

Good luck Scott Its hard working for yourself but it does have a lot of advantages......................I will come back to you when I work out what they are

I started my own business about 7 weeks ago as a Plumber. You can't beat being your own boss. Nobody to answer to but yourself. And the money is pretty good too

I spoke to this guy once who interestingly enough turned out to be a millionaire. He said that to make your fortune you should pick a job that noone else wants to do. Learn all there is about it and then do it to the best standard you possibly can. Eventually your reputation will preceed you.

    Hope he was right.
