    stearing wheel controls

    I was just wondering are the stearing wheel controls on a astra coupe bertone seposed to light up when dash lights are switched on cos they dont on mine and its a bit of a **** to see them in dark.

    they should do though can't remember if mine do, though if the same on my hatch with my sony h/u, they would light up when listening to the radio but not if listening to a CD, guess this had something to do with the adaptor to make them work.

    In the same way when you turn off the ignition it swaps the H/U onto the next function, i.e if you are listening to a CD it switches it to the AUX just a split second before it turns off, or if you are listening to the radio it switches it to the CD etc.

    They are powered from the aerial power feed from the head unit, so will only light up if the head unit is on & supplying power to ine aerial amplifier. Some head units don't power the aerial during CD play.

    If you turn TA or AP (I think) on itll power the aerial constantly, hence keeping yer steering controls on...
    Thats what I discovered on mine anyhow

    Cheers for the help guys. Ive just bin and had a look as i fitted the stearing wheel and dash wiring kit the other day ive checked and as you say it was the power aerial wire it wasnt connected to owt so ive cliped it together and all works fine now cheers. Also as Lyts1985 said when in cd mode they switch off switching ta on lights them up again
