If they are legal in europe, or more specifically Germany why not here? Our rules arent that different, are they? I've wanted a set for ages.

Our rules apply to cars registered in the UK. Visiting vehicles are exempt from compliance as long as they conform to the standard of the country from where they came -And I think there are some exeptions - some country cars are not permitted to be driven in the UK. And any vehicle from another country must display the country of origin as either a circular abbreviated sticker - or now accepted as part of the plate.....

So - to Legally have German plates....

    1. Export the car to Germany
    2. Comply with the requirements to register the car as German - including continental headlights.
    3. Bring the car back.
    4. Returnfor the annual equivilent of the MOT (I think they have something - bit blurry on that bit)
why do today what you can...... I'll finish this later

if you had an actual german registration wouldn't be a problem, but with an english reg on a german plate its going to stand out like a sore thumb to the police.
