    Astra GSI turbo running probs

Ive got a 2004 mk4 Astra GSI turbo, iam having problems with the engine surging when ive got my foot planted to the floor at anything above 3000rpm, i get a burst of power then the engine seems to loose power for half a sec or so then back on the power, this happens all the way up the rev range, the car was doing this from standard but the mods its had are pipercross viper induction kit, power pipe and bailey dump valve, stainless cat back exhaust system. Has anyone experienced the same problem or something similar and how can i fix it! Took it back to vauxhaull dealership and they would have nothing to do with it because the engine was "none standard" even though i told them the engine was experiencing this prob before it put these mods on, iam at a dead end and need help!

Someone else had these sort of problems a while back - do a search under 'surge' I think.

IIRC it was the boost control valve in that case, but yours may well be different!

They are being thick... Its the Boost control solenoid. Tell them its the little black box that sits next the turbo with vacuum tubes going to it.

Lol at the above! They couldnt even source me the rubber vacuum hoses from that join the plastic vacuum hoses together that runs from the valve to the throttle body. Ended up with a 3mm pipe not a 5mm pipe!
