    Yet more power sounder issues

But this time its not my bloody one.

After getting my alarm finally fixed my mates is now playing up, but him being the cowboy he is just ripped the wires off the main siren to shut it up, now his power sounder is going off randomly.

Is the lack of siren connected linked to the power sounder going off or does it probably just need disconnected.

If his alarm is already disconnected should he just rip the wires off power sounder aswell or would a newly installed PS fix all his woes.

The power siren is there to protect the main sytem from tampering. so as you mate has tampered with the system, the powersounder is understandably not happy.

he'd be better putting everything back and getting a new sounder

it will - IIRC the standard alarm is part and parcel of the central locking ECU, so he's not doing the car any favours either

I think it was just the actual siren he disconnected, and not the entire alarm

Ok Ive spoken to him and now he wants to know is he can disconnect his power sounder aswell without any gripe.

This is just his "hack" of a car he uses as a run about, so doesnt want to waste any cash on it apparently.

There's a chance you can remove the power sounder without any issues if you do it with the ignition on

Without it though the car will no longer have a thatham cat 1 alarm on it so if the insurance company know about it they won't be to happy if something happens to it
