    Alpine CDM-9825RB

My headunit is a Alpine CDM-9825RB, although it may have been cheap and a low end one, its still pretty dam good, does exacley what I want so im happy with it.

One problem I have is I dont have any stalk controls , my car just dosent have them, which is a shame.

I have seen this done before but just cant remember where I saw it! maybe I was dreaming? But they had a alpine headunit and were using the sony RM-X4S stalk.

Is that possible or does it need some kind of some additional interface? There is a list on the internet of all the diffrent protocols used for cars/remotes but dont really know what to search for.

theyre the parts i used for my steering controls and they work perfectly, but Alpine steeringwheel control adaptors seem a bit weird, the same adaptors work on some and not others.

So you rembered to swap red and yellow then?
What model car do you have?
IMHO its a fine head unit, it uses the M-bus system for cd changes and has been hacked for use with othe equiptment. And the stearing column controls conect to a 3.5 mm headphone connector.

    Cheep remote control.
Did you check out google? the an mbus lead that charges the ipod too.
With a bit of electronic hacking you could connect a cheep remote to the dock connector instead of having it pluged into the top.

Ask helfruads to check there alpine supplier.
Otherwise you will need a right angle din that fits the head unit.

Tried asking them for other stuff before, they are useless, will just take my aux lead to maplin and see if they have anything the same. and chopping that is not a option, well it could be but it cost me £15 for a wire!
