    Modyfying the 1.6 8V Auto Mobility Astra.

    If i cant increase the horses under the bonnet can i increase the performance and handeling of the engine and car?
    Oh btw has anyone knoticed there non lowed MKIV hitting speed ramps?

    This has'nt happened to me as she squats on 15s tho i have seen some astras that sit on 14inch steels so wrong v v wrong make sure yours is correct with 15s or upgrade

    My 2000 1.6 8v Club used to hit speed bumps all the time. The frame under the floor and exhaust were wrecked. Mine ran on 14" steels too.

    Too much suspension travel on those old ones, which is why they hit all the time. A decent set shocks will help handling no end, I know the shocks on my old 1.6 were pretty knackered when I sold it with 53k on the clock.

    I don't follow

    If you are talking performance mods, it's not ever going to be quick so I would just stick to air filter/exhaust mods.

    hitting speed bumps depends on size of bumps lol. here we have some that are pointless 2'' high coloured squares then get some ridiculous 6'' things that are higher than paventment. not good when ur front bumper sits 25mm from ground and u dont see it doing 40 lol

    ouch ! they put some pretty big ones in round here recently but didnt put markings on straight away ,what a bang that made

    No its a damn fast car (struggled abit between 75-90 MPH) i just wondered if anyone any come across some general improvement.
    (my 1.9 DTI vivario work fan is the same, its got very nice acceleration)
