1st service and tyres - Ouch!

    £400!
Did include two new tyres though at a rather eye watering £125 each (!) - Stuck to the Contis as they have lasted so well and perform nicely.
Also used fully synthetic oil which adds a bit more.

They didn't even clean it - The buggers.

HMMM - They were standard with the car though. Not added on Chav-alloys.

What a coincidence, the wheels on Steve's car were standard with the car too, along with the Brembo brakes and 200+ bhp.

I've cleared my PM box in preparation for your apology.

No need to over-egg it though, I'm sure your comment was in part related to your inadequacies relating to you being unable to keep your R32 due to the risk of having the 18" "chav alloys" stolen.

    WTF?!!

I'm not accusing YOU of having Chav alloys Mr Paranoid, just saying mine has standard ones.
There was NO need for the R32 comment - I had mine aged 29. Your Dad is probably rather a lot older than that.
I don't like aftermarket alloys - So what?

Oh I do apologise, quoting my reply seemed to suggest you were aiming your comment at me. If that was not the case then there is no need for you to apologise either.

Just for record, my dad is 52. I drive a Leon Cupra R and am (very nearly) 23. What's that got to do with the price of bananas? Or tyres for that matter!?

Anyway.... back on topic, you're quite right in saying that £125 is a lot for a tyre. My P Zeros were only £112.50 each but that soon mounts up when you cover 5k in 3 months! What size are yours by the way? 17s?

EDIT: Oh I forgot to add that I too am a big fan of OE alloys
