    Another Z20LET Dump Valve Post..

    Sorry!

Ive read through posts back to beginning of the year.

The girl who bought my Coupe has purchased a Bailey DV for the car and asked me to fit it...

Fitted it all up last night.. reading between the lines..
i fitted the spacer instead of the spring in the old dump valve..
t piece for the vac ont he fuel pressure reg vac line..
one way valve in the original dump valve line..
and the dv located close to the throttle body..

It makes an audiable sound but its pretty tame and quiet..

Could it be because of the standard boost?
Or could it be that i should have left spring in the original dump valve?

    Help and advice much appreciated!

I had another fiddle yesterday. put the fuel vac back to normal. and took the dum valve vac direct to behind the manifold and onto what i believe is a solenoid?

as it is now, this is the loudest i can get it to be.

QUESTION: does the standard dump valve pipe need to be blocked? or does the spacer in the valve just kill it all off anyway??

The Bailey DV on a standard car with standard airbox etc will sound really crap. No offence.

Mine was like that, it was laughable.

I (plus a mate) fitted mine the other day, still running OE valve and T pieced the Bailey vacuum off the standard vacuum pipe at the back of the engine bay and its got a lovely dump sound, plenty loud enough

However mines been remapped so I'll guess thats why, also derestricted airbox, courtaney panel filter and veccy c pipe as well
