    freid tweeters

after amping my pioneer componets I got a little greedy with the gain and freid my tweeters, the smoke comming from my tweeters as I found out wasnt a sign of bedding in lol.
Any how they havnt got cross overs but a inline filter type thing( they were a £100 I think so not massivly expensive in componet world.
What I would like to know is what would I have freid. a resistor of some sort? if so Is it repairable or can I buy the tweeters sepratly or is it a new set of components in the pipe line?

The inline bit is actually a capacitor I believe but it's probably the tweeter it's self you have blown

I think your best bet would be to save up for some new compoments as the tweeters on their could work out nearly as expensive as a new set

    gutted lol
Easy mistake though I had forgot the rms rating of the speakers and thought it was at least 25 watts more than the amps 75 watts rms per channel rating turned out they were less.

I did the same thing with my Phoenix Gold comps, but after changing to JBL components (with cross overs tweeters) - they seem to take anything that I chuck at them.

What jbls did you go for scott?
The pionners are good but may use them of the head unit for rear fill and whack some other higher rated components up front
