    Air intake

right...i have heard from alot of people that you shouldnt put a "cone" filter on an astra because its bad for it - so - i drive a 1.6 8v and was wondering if putting a cone filter on my car will be bad for it?

My thinking is it will be ok because its a small engine.

    Cheers in advance

I don't think it's as bad an idea on the 8v as there is loads of room in the engine bay. It's not going to do much performance wise but then it's not a powerful engine to start with so you may as well make it sound meaty. (imo)

As Sten said - smaller enginer, less heat generated, and better airflow round the bay.

Just get a decent cold air feed

    *Curious*

What are you expecting from a cone filter? imo air filters do bugger all unless sitting in a remapped car (taking advantage of it) with a decent exhaust system ... so the car is breathing better at both ends.

Unless you just want the noise so it'd be £80 for some noise...
