Thumbs Down Looks like some new rear calipers

Came home today and parked the car in the usual space and went into the house only to hear my alarm going off two mins later, as i came outside the car was making its way down the hill on which i live into a nice brick wall.
Thankfully there is no body damage but the wheels met some kerbs and the wall in the process.

    Think a refurb is needed.

That happened to my Mk3 - my car rolled out of the drive and across the road and stopped within a foot of a parked car!!!

Turned out the handbrake cable was seized on one side and the return spring was worn.

that must of been a scary thing to see your car rollin off, good to see no one was hurt. may just be the handbrake cable snapped or something simple?

if you are parking on a slope always leave your car in the appropriate gear

(ie reverse if you're pointing down a hill, 1st if you're pointing up)

saves absolute pita things like this from happening

    bad luck old chap

Only had the sodding rims on for 4 weeks as well. Will the lucas calipers fit directly on?

Yep Lucas are straight swap for Bosch. You can try and source a set second hand (good luck there ) or you can buy the new ones off E-Bay for £90 delivered with pads and then order the correct carriers for the Mk4 as those are Mk5 calipers. Another £80 for the carriers so £170 in total. Handbrake cable fits ok on the Lucas and don't let Vx tell you otherwise. You'll need to squeexe the cable arm slightly on the Mk5 caliper as it's slightly wider, no big deal though.

The rim looks like a Mk5 18" Penta wheel. I'm splitting a set at present, there's one on E-Bay as we speak but I've already had interest in someone buying the 4 I have as they are.
52 Astra G 1.8, 18" Mille Miglia alloys, 325mm Brembo 4 pot conversion, Coupe leather interior, Raid strut brace, Whiteline rear ARB, Irmscher bits (skirts, Carbon steering wheel, Bonnet extension, M3 mirrors, boot & roof spoiler), Reiger Rear Diffuser & Front Bumper, Koni Adj. dampers, 35/30 Vogtland springs, Duplex quad exit ASCAR stainless exhaust.

I have a set that are coming off my 888, pretty sure that they are Lucas but not sure if they are the same as the hatch (I assume that they are but I'm sure someone on here will know for sure) - they are also painted Smoothrite blue. Trouble is you can't have them until PV - let me know if you are interested.

Sorry to hear about ur little faux pas! But this just proves the old adage of always parking in gear (unless u have remote start or something lol) in almost 10yrs of driving I cant think of a time Ive never parked in gear.
Anyway sorry this post isnt very helpful but hope u get everything sorted.
