    Gearbox/Clutch problem?

    Problem with my 2.0 SRI.

In heavy traffic it gets stuck in gear or if in neutral wont engage 1st.
If its in first when it happens the car bites even with the clutch down and i have to turn it off. This only stops when i get going again and the car gets some air and cools down

This only happens when the car gets really warm in traffic.

Any ideas before i have to go to VX??

    Much appreciated

coz its Vauxhall, they only get given an hour to do a clutch,
just they lead people on to think its a big job so they can put the price up,

At the end of the day you need your clutch to be able to drive your car,so its not as if you can go without one, hence the price they make you pay to get it done...

Either way the lil devil that sits on Vauxhalls shoulders is laffin once you hand payment over

Chirs - I don't know what car you've got, but changing the clutch on a MK4 involves dropping the subframe off to get at the gearbox. It's defo not an easy job

Strange then how VX quote 5.3 hours on TIS, which a bit more than the one hour you seem to think it takes

I've done a clutch on both a pot type flywheel and the earlirr flat ones (with the bell housing hatch) and I know which one I'd call easy
