    Wheres the bell housing????

Hi peeps, got a 2001 astra coupe turbo, but I fear my reverse light switch has gone as the fuses and bulbs are OK.

Ive heard people say the switch is just above the "bell housing" but I aint got a clue where it is, any pics with arrows showing where it is would be great.

    Cheers

The bell housing is the is bulbous bit between the engine block and the gearbox.

But the reverse switch isn't there - it's near where the gear selector mech enters the gearbox. Just look for an electrical connector, and the switch will be on the end

Have a look just above the left hand drive shaft - you should see the wires disappearing round the back (and under) the box.

It's a jack the car up job to get to it tho
