    If you had 16k?

If you had 16k (round about that figure), what car would you buy?
I am willing to spend approx 16k on a car (maybe a little bit less), but i am unsure of what??
I like the 3 door mk 5 astra, but a lot of people in my town have these cars, they are a real nice car, but i like to be different.
I like the celica, and the RX8, but the only problem is, the car has gota be diesel, and i am assuming you can not get these cars in diesel?

So if you had 16k, and was told to buy a diesel car (brand new of second hand), which car would it be?

The 307cc is nice to, though.

Vectra 1.9 CDTi 150 - get a minter for about 11k - spend 500 quid on that electronic gizmo and instantly power hikes up from 150bhp to 200bhp - smiles all round if ya ask me!

1.9 CDTi Movano, Drop it 50/30, 18s, remap, spend the rest on top of the range sound system.

Sensible Idea... Id still go with the sports hatch, do some work on it, or the veccy like mentioned.

I got my Astra Estate for exactly that (list was a lot more) brand new.

It's quicker than the competition, better specced and better looking than most too (has dark rear glass, 17" alloys and is lowered as standard which helps)- Chuffed to bits with it.

Very well made (I came from a Golf R32 - It's more soild than that), uses almost no fuel, handles very well, stops well (you get bigger brakes on the top end models), and has nice 1/2 leater sports seats that are super comfy.

You may not be after an estate but check any top end 1.9CDTi Astra out -Quicker than a Veccie too due to lower weight.
Ex Golf R32, now mk5 Astra Estate 1.9CDTi (150PS, 232ftlb) Design on fat alloys.

I wouldn't spend that on a car.. but if I did it would probably be an Astra Mk5 CDTi 5 door or a Vectra/signum CDTi.

Or maybe a second hand BMW 330/530 diesel.

Whatever it was I would want it to be an oil burner and have 5 doors but still look/drive well.

    *Edit: But then a mk4 R32 wouldn't go a miss !

Is there such a website that tells you the insurance group of different cars?
This could become a problem to me to.

    www.parkers.co.uk

Tells you pretty much everything about most cars in the last ten years, and less detail on older ones
