    Wheel advice

I've an Astra 1.6 8v and I've bought some second hand wheels, they are 15's with a 205/55 tyre. Will these go on my car with no problems?

    Thanks in advance.

Ideally should be 195/60/15 as that's what the standard 15" tyre size is. You might be ok with 205/50/15 too. I'm assuming you have the correct spigot rings and they're the right offset too?

This is where I might have the problem. I don't know about the offset and I'm not sure what spigot rings are(d'oh). They aren't on my car so I'm just gathering information.

The offset should hopefully be stamped on the back of the wheel, you want about 38-49 on 15" wheels I reckon.
The spigot rings are what go in the middle of the rims to make sure they sit central on the hub - dont even think about fitting a set of wheels if you dont have these! What car were they on before?

They were on jammy's old cav.. Without asking him, I don't know anymore details. On the inside of the wheel it says ET38.

If they've come off another Vauxhal - assuming they had the spigot rings on last time - they'll be fine. Just the tyre size that is an issue. ET38 will be fine on 15s.

Silly question: I assume I'll need some spigot rings? Also, in what way is the tyre size an issue?

    Thanks again, Jace.

Only if they don't already have them! Or if they're orginal Vaux wheels.

    What wheels are they?

In that case, if they don't come with spigot rings, you'll need to get hold of some. Now the bad news.....the last time I ordered a set for momos they were about £30!! But if your getting a bargain anyway on the wheels, it's not so bad.
