    Good Deal or not?

    1.8 16V ASTRA SRI hatchback 2001 Y Plate. £5k 34k miles.

i noticed the interiour is a little different to the 2001 51 plate as to what it is to the Y reg 2001 are they both the same as in terms of 0-60 and engine speeds?

it's alright, possibly a smidge overpriced for the age, but has a relatively low mileage...

£4500 would be where i'd expect it

its at a garage so i dont think id be able to drop him down really. i really want a 3 door astra and top model if possible so this seems like a good option but i thought it was slightly over priced as well. i asked him on the phone if he would be able to do it a bit cheaper and he sed wot i could do is get you 12 month tax and mot but its not really that helpful for me since im tight on money as well. ill be payin cash more or less for it as well

if i could get it for like £4500 i would be able to afford it easily without any messin about. £5k is possible to get hold of just dont wana get ripped off.

if 5k is the price the garage is asking for then you will be able to haggle. they will probably give discounts if you offer cash

well, 12 months tax is worth 180 quid now..... so that's no small amount.

if it's in nice condition, and is the colour/trim etc you want then i'd probably be willing to pay about that.

i tried the haggle but he said he wouldnt be able to drop the price of it. which i was a bit gutted about its not a big garage i dont think somewhere i newcastle

uim gonna look at two theres another one SRI but it has a 2.2 litre engine and is the same price and year and mileage funny enough. but it looks like it has the irmsher skirts and splitters on it which makes it look very smart.

only problem with that one is the insurence and petrol consumption i think. for the extra engine size its not really that much Quicker on the 0-60.

2.2 is a much more gutsy engine though, might not be any quicker on the 0-60 but is noteably better mid-high range. fuel economy isn't much different to the 1.8.

if you can afford the insurance on it, it's a better engine to get imo

The 2.2 wont drink much more fuel atall mate.

It will have cruise control ect, and other nicetiestys.

You can get mopney of nearly anythign m,ate

Say to him £4500 cash, if your not willing to haggle no deal, he will ring you up and probal do the deal with you mate.

Go somewhere else, your doing him a favour remember not the other way around, and the thing i stress loads os wait as tehre are plenty of other examples out there
