Anyone got pictures of a GSi with the carbon fibre round the door frame removed?

The carbon fibre round the door frame on my GSi is starting to peel and crack. I know there is an old thread covering this, but what I'd like to see are pictures of what it looks like without the film on, preferably on an Arder Blue one if anyone has them.

    Cheers,

    Alan

ive done this on my black astra Gsi, i prefer it with it on tbh. They are very hard to remove, u need a hot day and about 2hrs! Also be very carefull with the back window strips, u need to pull the carbon strip out from the window frame otherwise it will look shishe!

    i would replace them mate.

mine is slowly coming off. Tried to blag it under warrenty, but no luck at all.

they cost 9quid each side, and about an hours labour to do from vaux. the door ones would of been eay to do, but the rear quater ones seem a bugger to do, you have to take window out or something???

If you want to know what it looks like without the foil on, try looking at any other 3dr in the range.

I personally prefer them with the foil, especially if you've got a set of tinted windows on it!

They are covered for the first year i believe. Some have been lucky and got them replaced later than that obviously

after removing mine, it would be alot easier to remove the rear quarter windows, to fit the strip back on, or to take it off.

Car's out of warrenty now, might see how much Vauxhall want to do it, as it will be too much of a ball ache to remove windows etc.

They are starting to look pretty tatty just now, bits broken off at the edges and rippling as well.

i rang up yesterday, and these are the prices vauxhall gave me:

    £9 per side
and 1 hours labour to do it,

    so looking around £18 +£35 labour = £53 at a rough guess!!
