    Brake Discs

    Ok a few questions:
    1. How do you know when discs need replacing?
    2. What are good replacments?
    3. Will hammerite be ok for painting the calipers
    4. What colour should i paint the calipers, Red, Black,
    Silver?

Any help will be brilliant along with pictures, gifts, flowers etc

    1. discs will be "lipped" where the very outer rim of the disc has a raised section compared with the rest of the dics. you can feel it with your fingers (not after having been driving!!!)
    2. starnadrd oem ones are very good, from vauxhall/halfords. cheap as well well up to the job. depending on what car yours is and if you have any perfromance mods the noraml ones will be fine. if you are determoined to go down the perfromance discs route i hear green stuff pads and ebc discs , lmf stock them cheap!
    3. hammerite is excellent stuff, cheaper easier than caliper paint, you can use it again (no hardner/resin to mix) and can even paint the gates with it as well!!
    4. depends on what colour your car is, silver is always classic on any car black = very understated sublte. red if you really want to stand out, if you have drums whatever you do dont paint them a clour black only! looks gash otherwise!!

    any good?

1: They will have a large lip on the outer edge and they'll tell you when you get the car serviced.

2: GM OE discs are good enough for general driving. EBC can provide cheap alternatives for faster driving

3: Yes, providing u only paint the external metal parts and dont go painting the disc or pads lol

    4: Your choice.

    1. As mentioned above they have a lip. Mine also warped and became very noisy toward the end of their life.

    2. Disc + pad kit is £42+ vat trade club from Vauxhall.
