    Upgraded the boot.

After being fed up with two wooden boxes floating round my boot with and amp screwed to the top, I decided it needed a little tidying up. So after a few sheets of mdf, some carpet and a little work I have come up with this.

Whilst I was buliding the install i decided to upgrade all of my cables to 4 awg and added two 1.5 farad caps. I know some people dont like power caps but I now get more bass from my subs when there driven hard and no light dimming at night and for £50 for the pair they were quite cheap.

I made a false floor for the amps to sit in and two false walls to hold the caps. I have blended the capet from the false walls to the origional walls to try and make it look seamless.

    what do you think?

That looks tidy mate, wish I had a hatchback as they are so much easier to do a smart boot build on

I must admit Splx are not the best, but there not to bad. I did get them on a budget a few years ago, would buy better amps but want to save for a VXR

The sides are just a sheet of mdf tucked under the plastic shelf next to the parcel shelf. I made all the bits out of cardbord to get the shapes right then copied them onto the wood. I used 5mm mdf to keep the weight down but still be stong enough to stay in place.
