SUrely vauxhall are taking the piss?

Misses corsa has to go in for a recall on teh abs pump, so while i was there my astra gsi is due for a second anual service, thought id get a price..

    £194

Nearly fell over....... He said the services go, minor major minor etc, so i thought oh its a major service, i said its only done 8500k and 2500 since you last serviced it. He said it doesnt matter

So i asked what was involved in this second anual "major service"

    Plugs (at 8500k?)
    battery for the keyfob
    screenwash top up
    oil change
    filter
    sump washer
    pollen filter

Oh and they check the car over

How can they charge £194 for that, the screen wash is full, a battery is £2 it had an oil+filter change at 6000k (no harm in another one though) and i sure as hell dont need plugs at 8.5k..... The guy said if i didnt have the plugs changed it would void my warrenty.

    This cant be right??

Would i benefit from phoning vauxhall HQ

BenC if your having that work done, mark all your parts and then take it in, and ask for all replaced parts back, then check them for the mark.

Go to a Masterfit and get it done for about £100, and still get your Vauxhall stamp in the book.

If you have another dealer nearby, get a price from them.

The labour rates vary alot and it could be alot cheaper.....might be more expensive tho.

I have been told that a dealer cannot make you use their parts or services to keep the warrenty, by doing this they are saying that every other garage are incompentant - sorry for the spelling. ring the cit advice people and ask them.... most of the time they are crap but on the odd occasion they are very helpful
