It's no better/worse than probably any other power pipe out there.

Absolutely no noticeable gains in performance.

However, it does look so much better than the standard black rubber hose!

Got a promotasport one on mine and as said above, no performance gains but looks a lot better!

Another option is the Mk5 astra setup - Still black hoses but with the straight section in plastic (as standard) - I know Courtenay do this too in silicon and alloy/stainless pipe bith with and without a DV takeoff

    Kev,

Best bet for more power is (in no particular order except No. 6) ...

    1. Exhaust, preferably with a sports cat and precat replacement pipe. Get a decent brand too!!
    2. K&N panel filter in deristricted airbox/2.2/enclosed aftermarket filter system
    3. Iridium plugs
    4. Intercooler (Pace/Courtenay/Regal - your choice)
    5. VXR Turbo
    6. Remap to suit the mods above

With all done you should be looking at somewhere in the region of 275-280 BHP (With VXR turbo) or 250ish BHP (Without VXR turbo)

    Hope that helps!

Be carefull with solid pipes like this, as you can limit engine movement between the intercooler and plenum. This can (and has) result in damged to the intercooler.

You can get the same performance advantange (if any) by do this instead:
