    Another Blue Peter mod

Been fertling yet again, to keep me sane whilst waiting for a slightly overdue box of goodies to turn up.

So I proudly present the patented Ffoeg Strut Brace Solution. Many of you will know that the relay box fouls the position of the strut brace. And where it doesn't it usually means that the bracket will sit high in the bracket, and fouls the bonnet - sitting high is IMO not good as it will put more strain (leverage) on the bracket than if it was positioned right at the bottom.

So to overcome this some simple surgery was called for....

Simple cut the back half of the top off, trim it up, rotate and weld/glue in the position shown...

Then with some bumper filler, sandpaper and time give it a fettle up to smooth it all off, and finally paint, cut back and polish...

    Perfect fit

    Chhers peeps

The finish BTW is 3 coats of VHT enamel, cut back and polished. It's an amazing finish in the flesh and looks like a cross between PVC and japlac. And gets a really deep semi-gloss finish to it

I could be doing a few more plastic engine bits in that

    Very nice....simple but effective.

Thankfully my strut brace fitted over my relay box and under my bonnet with NO fouling issues.

Mine fiited OK (sort of ) - but the idea is to lower the brace so it sits as close to the bottom of the bracket slots as possible - That way forces caused by flex in the wings will be transmitted to the brace itself, rather then to (and absorbed by) the bracket tabs themselves, which will flex to some degree.

    It's all about reducing leverage

No pics yet as it's still in the kitchen, as I'm waiting for some stainless steel washers arrive for the bolts on the brace.

.....and when it's fitted it will just look like a relay box lid under a strut brace
