    coupe lowered

Ive just briught a asta coupe turbo and im thinking about lowering it.Ive read alot of post on here about this but still alittle confused on what is best? a even drop all round or a 60/40 for example.ive got a irmicher front splitter on the standard 17s if i drop 60mm at the front will this hit the floor?

also culd i get away with just buyin the springs or am i best to buy shocks as well? eibach seems to be wot every1 is going for as i dnt really want coilovers.
sorry for all the questions just want to get it right before i buy anything
    thanks every 1

if ur going lower than 40 you'll need to budget for new shockers as the originals cant cope. A lot of ppl go for 30/30 Eibachs but in my opinion this aint enough. I'd go for a 60/40 drop - this would be perfect even if u had a set of 18s - loads of ppl have this setup on here and give it a few hours or so and you'll be bombarded with similar responses. Good luck fella whatever u decide and keep us posted. Remember pics are always a good idea (of the car obviously lol)

an irmscher splitter will be a bit of a pain in the arse with a 60mm drop....

if you're willing to put up with it though, 60/40 looks spot on imo and realy levels the car over the arches:

Right then.... Get a good set of 18s which are within the guidelines set out here: http://www.m1gst.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1307

Personally Ive got ET40 with 7.5x18s running 215/35/18 rubber and a 40mm drop all round - this is pretty perfect Id say on a 5dr with no rubbing at all, plus the rim sits nice and snug up against the arch. Only had the suspension on a couple of days so will no doubt drop a little in time

heres a few pics ive just taken which may give u some idea of what i mean

    Why dont you want coilovers?

You can set them to the height you want then.

Also they are not hard and crashy over bumps.

If you can get a drive in a car with coilovers you wouldnt think twice about getting them.

I wasnt sure if to get them or not till I went in Byron's old astra with them fitted.

Can set them high or low as you want.

    This is mine with coilovers
