    Alternator Brushes

    does anyone know the part number and the price of the brushes for the alternator on a 1.8 MK4 Astra by any chance? i will do a ring round 2moz just wondering if any1 knows now.

    its not the 120 i thinkits the 100 or 80 is there any way to tell?

    Its whining and i just put my multi metre accross it and it is pumpin out 14.6 volts, so somethins wrong like the bushes, slip rings, regulator etc hopefully the bushes cause i can change tjem!!

    Humm odd

    I can see the part number for the 70amp alty, only the 100amp which is...

    SET, CARBON BRUSHES, WITH HOLDER, ALTERNATOR = 10475011

    There should be an ident code (2 letters) on it somewhere, but unless it's been changed then you should have the 70amp as standard.

    ok geoff, theres a bloke who re-cons Alternator and starter motors up the road from me ill go and ask him 2moro, cheers for ur help

    Might be best to - it could be anyone of of those things mentioned above, although my money would be on the regulator.

    Hope it's not to costly to sort
