    Hazard Switch Wiring Help?

I know this has been posted before but done a search and can't find the answer anywhere...

I've just bought a savage hazard switch but ain't got a clue how to wire it in, there are so many wires? I know you only use 3 or 4 of them but which ones and which order?

Can anybody help please, already blown a fuse!

Any advice would be really appreciated chaps

Right... i apologise for the quality of the pics, but my phone camera has difficulty focusing close up and it's the only camera i have down here so you'll have to make do.

First of all here's the relay end.... bridge pins 1 and 2. attach length of wire to 2 ,3 and 4. (which are now called wire 2, wire 3 and wire 4 for the purposes of this guide)

take the original hazard switch off its plug, and you are left with the connector shown below. Notice the 3 yellow markings on the side - on the opposite side these are one solid yellow block, so use this for orientation purposes. plug the wires into the slots shown. just for an extra check, wire 3 should be plugging into a brown wire, wire 4 should be plugging into a red wire and wire 2 should be plugging into a blue wire.

once done, wrap it all up in electrical tape to make sure the connectors stay put

    should now work!

just followed your instructions Rusty and they were spot on, just like you said! Thanks very much for that mate, couldn't have done it without you... now I can start putting the dash back together

one last enquirey mate... is it possible to wire one of the other left out leads to make the red glow stay on like at night when you put your lights on etc, cause the old one stayed lit when the ignition was turned on?

that i don't know tbh.... i just set it up like that and left it because that's how i wanted it to work.

just for clarification for everyone else this setup lights up when pressed

edit - while you've got it all out, try touching wire 2 to a permanent live and tell me if anything happens (i take no responsibility if you lose limbs/eyesight/car blows up etc etc.... )

    light up.

if it does then you just need to plumb wire 2 into a igniton switched or lights switched live depending on what you want.

    not sure it will though
