    obd2 readings from earlier today

^First screen with the engine just idling

^Second one with the engine idling and the cooling fan on (engine temp quite high)

^Third page (no idea what all these mean...!)

^My fault codes (disappointing really because there is something wrong with the abs/tc lights but maybe the full version software will pick up on this)]

    ^Simulated fault readings

Quite a handy wee tool and for the sake of £40, reasonably cheap. I am trying to get the full software for this which apparently reads more sensor data and will produce a bhp figure too.

on the second picture down, it says the intake air temp is 35oC. Is this about normal for idle?

This is with just the free software available as a download that works with the tool. I am negotiating getting the full version software.

that's cool - are there any obd cables which are sufficiently low profile to remain plugged in all the time?

all the ones i've seen look like they'd stick out too much for the cover to be refitted

i might have to get this anyway and hook it up to the car pc.... just install it so when you want a read out you can pull up the cover with a tab and plug it in or something.

have you got a link to the one you bought?

I am not too sure about having one in there permanently, but it is easy enough to just quickly stick on.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=8051799683

The 'paid' software is from a different company from the people who sell the leads

    http://www.digimotosales.com/shop/?s...t=51844&cat=1&

for a list of their products and

    http://www.digimoto.com/updates.htm

    for their software.

Deffo worth buying if you can get it hooked to your In car PC permanently.

yes, possibly - its a question of whether or not the large body of the plug can fit under there even when lying down really.

Rusty when I get round to doing mine I am just going to have it hard wired (Soldered) to the wires so a normal plug can still be plugged in.
