All started off bright and early this morning.....7am my alarm went off. (bit of a lay in actually cause if i'd have been at work i'd have been up at 5.25am)
Anyway, brekkie and a quick fluid check on the car and i was off on my travels at 7.45.
The first "different" thing was seeing this!
and following it for a bit....well 88 odd miles!
Eventually Billy (the LC owner) let me pass to lead the way.
and arrived at a pub slightly before the planned time.....time for pics then!
Then a guy from France arrived! He's come over in the morning and driven up to Norfolk!
The the fun began!
A total of 15 LC/LO's turned up........
Your seat awaits!......
Quite happily, I got in then was taken by James Waddington on the quick blast round to the Lotus Factory at Hethal!
Unfortunately i don't have any pics from the actual Lotus factory as cameras are not allowed, but there will be official pics available soon. It was quite a slight seeing 15 Lotus Carlton/Omegas lined up out side the main factory...the Lotus employees came out in droves and drooled at them, even one of the original project managers came out and talked Lotus Carlton with us.
The tour around the Elise production line was interesting, since the VX220 (Type 116) has ceased production Lotus have kept ALL the quality measures that Vauxhall put in place to guarantee the work on the cars. They even use Vectra Brakes on the Elise.
Also saw the first few Europas lying around. Lotus haven't got the correct rims for them so they're sitting on VX rims at the moment.
