a scouser or an expensive mouse !!

had this VW Touran in the workshop in one of the accounts i work in for the last few days ...........

came in with the screenwash not working, when the techie started stripping it and tracing the washer tubes he saw they had been chewed through, along with some wiring. he carried on stripping the car and finding more chewed wires and damage, seats with the bottoms chewed out of them, dashboard insulation missing in places. then he found the cause - a mouse nest, and inside a mouse about 2" long. turns out this mouse had chewed through some of the wiring in the engine bay, through a grommet in the bulkhead, and then proceeded to chew wiring / seats / trim / anything he could right through the car !! the car now needs a FULL wiring loom, which in turn means EVERYTHING out of the car, including the engine !! 18 hours labour have been quoted, along with a new loom (Ł1700).

total cost for the damage this 2" long mouse has caused - Ł7000+ VAT !!

yeah mice did something similar to our house, cost over Ł7k though! They chewed through upvc central heating pipes in the loft and flooded the house from the top down, then chewed through cold water upvc pipe in the kitchen and flooded it from the ground up
